About this Event
COURSE OVERVIEW
This immersive program takes you inside a real EPC lifecycle and walks you step-by-step through how schedules should be built as projects pass through each stage-gate (FEL → 30% → 60% → 90% → IFC).
You will learn how engineering output drives procurement and how procurement drives construction — including long-lead items, deliverable chains, fabrication requirements, and logic ties.
You’ll also get guided P6 exercises (engineering, procurement, and construction examples), Excel deliverable tracking, rolling wave planning, and schedule optimization techniques used in real projects.
By the end of this course, you’ll not only understand how EPC projects flow — you’ll know how to build, update, and defend a fully integrated schedule.
Classes are taught by Primavera instructors who are experienced in providing both Primavera P6 training classes and P6 scheduling consulting services.
COURSE DETAILS
EPC Fundamentals & Stage-Gate Flow
- How EPC projects are structured (Engineering → Procurement → Construction)
- The role of deliverables, MTOs, RFQs, POs, fabrication, and installation
- How phase gates (FEL2, FEL3, 30/60/90/IFC) impact schedule maturity
Rolling Wave Planning
- How to detail near-term work and summarize future phases
- Expansion of engineering packages into procurement and construction chains
- How to prepare for weekly or bi-weekly schedule cycles
Engineering Scheduling Techniques
- Deliverable tracking in Excel
- Rules of credit for engineering progress
- Creating engineering-driven logic in P6
Procurement & Long-Lead Item Scheduling
- MTO → RFQ → PO → fabrication → delivery sequencing
- Building long-lead milestones
- Modeling vendor cycles and risks in P6
Construction Sequencing & Workface Integration
- Turning IFC packages into construction activities
- Sequencing by system, area, or discipline
- Integrating fabrication and field schedules
Hands-On Primavera P6 Exercises
- Creating WBS structures for EPC
- Assigning logic and resources
- Running the schedule
- Reviewing critical path and key drivers
- Performing updates and analyzing changes

Why This Course Stands Out
Unlike academic or theory-based scheduling classes, this course is built from real project experience — taught across the Gulf Coast at conferences and companies who rely on deliverable-driven planning.
You’ll learn exactly how EPC schedules are built in the real world, not just how P6 buttons work.
