Oz rock legend Mick Thomas played the first ever Sonic Sherpa instore back in 2016, and now he's returning with some bandmates in tow to celebrate the Roving Commission's stunning new album 'GoComeBack' (out on Friday 31 Oct through shop-based label Coolin' By Sound)!The former Weddings Parties Anything frontman has concocted a song cycle about the allure of home - GoComeBack is a pidgin Indonesian term for a return journey - the record recorded in Auckland at Neil Finn’s Roundhead Studio with ARIA award-winning producer Steven Schram (Crowded House, Paul Kelly, Sans Cisco etc). It's the follow-up to 2023’s 'Where Only Memory Can Find You' which found its way to #1 on the AIR Independent Albums chart, and lead single 'First Step In A Homeward Direction' also raced to #1 on the AIR Independent Singles chart earlier this year!
Mick will be joined by Brooke Taylor (guitar/vocals) and former WPA stalwart Jen Anderson (violin/vocals) for the Brisbane exclusive show - part of Mick's national instore tour - and you'll be able to grab 'CoComeBack' on vinyl or CD straight from the source weeks before its official release! What a time to be alive!
