We will meet again, as we did last November, at Lansing Makers Network, 2730 Alpha Access St, Lansing, MI on Sunday, November 09, from 1:00-3:00. The Makers ‘brings diverse people, experiences, and ideas together in a safe environment; to meld technology, art, and culture in new and exciting ways; to share skills, tools, and inspiration; and to marvel at what we make together’. On top of that, it’s centrally located in the state, thus accessible to many of our members! What better place for metalsmiths to meet? The Meet Up will include brief introductions, a short tour of the jewelry studio, and time for networking and sharing:
Show off new creations; tell us how they were made
Share what we’re working on - successes/challenges/frustrations
Get feedback from fellow metalsmiths
Discuss new techniques, resources and upcoming events
You will need to sign up at the front desk on arrival.
This will be our last meet-up in 2025, so you don’t want to miss it. It’s a great opportunity to meet like-minded metals aficionados, so grab a friend or two and stop on by.
Light snacks will be provided, and you are also welcome to bring your own snacks.
More information on meet ups in 2025 will be coming in later in the year. Our January meet up is tentatively scheduled at Eastern Michigan University Windgate Arts Complex; our March meet up will again be hosted by Center for Creative Studies in Detroit. We continue to look for venues throughout the state, and we are also looking for ideas on events/tours that we can schedule in place of meet ups in the ‘other’ months were meet ups aren’t scheduled. Please let us know if you have any ideas.
