Critically acclaimed vocalist and “Las Vegas’ First Lady of Jazz,” Michelle Johnson returns to The Smith Center for the holidays with “A World of Christmas.” This engaging, multi-cultural show is a celebration of holiday music from around the world and will feature songs in a variety of genres and languages, along with classic Christmas favorites. Michelle is known for her soaring vocals, versatile repertoire, and sold-out productions at The Smith Center and at performing arts centers across the country. Michelle is multilingual and grew up overseas and was exposed to a multitude of cultures from an early age. “A World of Christmas” will highlight her international background and focus on the hope, joy, and love that envelop the holiday season across the globe.
Beyond her work as a Broadway actor, national cabaret artist and Las Vegas headliner, Michelle has also performed, toured or recorded with legendary artists including Paul McCartney, Michael Bublé, The Eagles, Barbra Streisand, Elton John, Gladys Knight, David Foster, Sheena Easton, Wynonna, Slash, Donnie Osmond, and many more. Michelle is the 2020 Las Vegas Black Music Awards recipient of the Lena Horne Award for Musical Excellence and she is also a 2022 and 2023 Broadway World award winner and the recipient of the National Association of Women Business Owners Woman of Distinction Award for her contributions in entertainment.
