String Theory holds that everything is made of unfathomably tiny strings, the vibrations of which produce effects we interpret as atoms, electrons, and quarks. A systems perspective holds a similar supposition: The life of a family—the life of an individual—is made up of infinitesimal encounters, the vibrations of which create impact across dimensions and generations. String Theory offers a prismatic picture of being born into a tradition of addiction, misogyny, and complex love—and then being born again. The little girl and then young woman struggle, often blindly, with the danger of depending on others for her self-concept.
Michelle Bias is a writer, life coach, and expert on intergenerational trauma with a passion for helping others find freedom, healing, and growth.
