Michael Woods returns to the Victoria Tunnel this April. Michael Woods is a Fingerpicking, Ragtime, Bottleneck & Blues Guitarist with four well-received albums to date.
Embracing the rich history of early blues, Michael’s powerful picking and slide really shine on material ranging from classic acoustic blues to self-penned songs & instrumentals.
He incorporates elements of his experience in the folk world and his love of the North East and its history into his style.
Fatea magazine described him as “one of today's most inspirational performers ploughing this rootsy furrow”.
Having performed on the main acoustic stage of most of the major UK Blues festivals as well as Lindisfarne & Ouseburn festivals, this is a rare chance to experience an intimate performance of songs and instrumentals in this unique atmospheric venue, including the award-winning “Blink of an Eye” and a new song about the Victoria Tunnel, written especially for the occasion.
