Michael Crowley presents 'Roots' - an exploration of classical guitar music

Join us on the evening of Saturday 30 March, where we will host guitarist Michael Crowley and his solo program of classical guitar music.

The repertoire will feature both the Spanish/Latin music of Tárrega, Piazzolla, Barrios and Dyens - where much of the rich history of the guitar is drawn - together with Irish tunes arranged by David Russell and drawn from the artist's own cultural identity. The two styles will blend together into an evening where Michael will bring his audience into his deeply personal explorations and reflections of his cultural and musical roots.

The program will run for approximately 80 minutes with a short break.

We are excited to host Michael in our cosy studio space, so reserve your seat and we will see you there for a drink and concert. Doors will open at 7.30pm, with the music to start at 8.00pm. See you there!

About Michael Crowley

Michael is an award-winning guitarist, having been a musician for most of his life from his early days on the piano before being drawn to the guitar and its diverse tonal palette. He completed his Bachelor of Music (Hons) from the CIT Cork School of Music in Ireland and studied with/received masterclasses from renowned guitarists such as Irinia Kulikova, David Russell, Laura Young, John Feeley and Peter Constant. Michael has also been the recipient of a number of prizes and awards including the Guitar Bach Prize, Cork Classical Guitar Perpetual Trophy and the Cormac and Maura Daly Perpetual Trophy in Ireland.
