Talent Bios

is the founder of Black Women In Comedy Laff Fest and also a premier comedian! As a shining star on the comedy circuit and a true visionary, Joanna created the Black Women In Comedy Laff Fest and produced Joke Sistas to showcase the brightest and funniest Black Women in a safe space. "I believe the Black Women in Comedy Laff Fest represents a close knit sisterhood sort of like an “unofficial sorority” filled with hilarious Black Women who understands the assignment,” Briley says. “We are NOT monolithic, we are each strong advocates for telling it like it is with love, emotional dexterity, and punchlines!" With her one woman show “Swipe This: My Life in Transit!” Joanna also merged her comedy life with the 32 years as a New York City Transit Authority Token Booth Clerk into a hit stage performance. If that wasn’t enough, as a former comedy club manager at the Brooklyn House of Comedy, Joanna catapulted the venue into becoming one of the premier comedy venues in Bed-Stuy Brooklyn by creating diverse showcases, mentoring young comedians, and offering creative tips and techniques to enhance each comics growth. With appearances on Bravo TV’s Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Lifetime TV informercials, Advisory Board member for the Stand Up Girls! NYC organization, Gold Comedy Advisory Board and recently added to the Ladies of Comedy Association Talent Board.

is an up-and-coming standup comedian who hails from Memphis, Tennessee and now calls the DC metro area home. Her comedy style is primarily political and dark humor, influenced heavily by her day job as a lawyer. She has performed at the DC Comedy Loft Approved Show, Nerd Nite DC, The Pocket DC, DC Comedy Clubhouse, and Ugly Mug. When Elizabeth is not on stage, you can find her making jokes and witty commentary on Instagram and TikTok under the handle bookersquared.

is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana born to Winston and Mary Whitten the last of five children. Algiers has been performing for most of her life, she remembers way back singing in the sunbeam choir at church at age 3. Her inquisitiveness and bright bubbly personality is what caught the attention of the talented and arts teacher back in third grade and everything else fell into place.

Algiers has performed in some sort, being classically trained in the fine arts of vocal music, theater, and art all over the globe. She's sang for the pope in Italy and for the neighborhood but no matter where or what audience, she shines. There's something about how she can captivate an audience with her infectious smile and laugh. It comes as no surprise that she is naturally funny and an ultimate quadrudruple threat. Nyesha, "Algiers Diamond" Wilson is a force to be reckoned with.

She's touted jokingly that she's coming for the best because she knows what it takes to be and stay prepared for whatever. So wether its a monologue, music, standup, or putting pencil to sketch book she is ready.

, CEO of Funny Girl Productions, a military wife and mother of 5 handsome young men is also co-creator of a very successful weekly virtual talk show called Clean AF Comedy. Is An Emerging Force & Rising Star From Richmond Virginia Patrice Has Been Traveling Doing Standup All Over The Country Opening For Orlando Jones, Chaunté Wayans, Tony Woods & The Legendary Adele Givens. Patrice Is A Writer, Producer And Creative Curator. Patrice Has Appeared On Several Television Shows Including News One Now With Roland Martin, K*ll Tony & Revolt TV. She Has Also Been Featured On Keanan Thompson’s Ultimate Comedy Experience. Patrice Most Recently Performed In October At The Legendary Apollo Theater In NYC & Traveled To Perform Internationally In The Netherlands.

About Improbable Comedy:
Founded by social-worker-turned-comedy-producer , Improbable Comedy has hosted more than 150 shows in local venues around the DMV. The goal has been to transform the industry by giving the mic to hilarious comedians who have been underrepresented on stage. Since our first show at Vicino's restaurant in 2012, we have brought big laughs to theatres, bars, swanky clubs, and people's homes. We now have regular shows at Busboys & Poets and the Arts Barn as well as bigger events with the Montgomery Parks Department and at the Silver Spring Black Box Theatre.
