About this Event

Ian Burrell & TheRumLab.com are proud to celebrate the 3rd Miami Rum Congress.  The boutique-style event will showcase a handful of brands that emphasize the education and premiumization of the rum category.  The rum congress will be at the Hilton Cabana Miami Beach (6261 Collins Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33141)

The USA is considered one of the most important countries for the entire rum industry. Before the American Revolution, rum was the most consumed spirit, and now an awakening is occurring.

Our team is the producers of the UK Rum Festival, Puerto Rico Rum Festival "Taste of Rum", California, New York, and Chicago Rum Festival. All events are attracting hundreds of people from trade, rum aficionados, tourists & locals.

The Miami Rum Congress will be divided in two days.

- Friday, MARCH 11th - Rum education program design to elevate the knowledge of rum aficionados & industry professionals. 

- Saturday, MARCH 12th - Rum Tasting event and rum symposiums

FRIDAY - MARCH 11TH - RUM CONGRESS

What to expect: This will be a series of Symposiums one after the other starting at 1:00 pm until 7:30 pm. Present seminar | Welcome cocktail from 12:30 pm - 1:00 pm. More details at MiamRumCongress.com

SATURDAY - MARCH 12TH - RUM FESTIVAL  

What to expect: Saturday offers the opportunity to attend the Grand Tasting events and a series of seminars. Three independent sessions are happening on Saturday. Below we will describe each session based on times and market.

SESSION #1 - The Industry Session consists of a 1.5-hour program (2 - 3:30 pm) offering industry professionals the opportunity to:

  • Network with the brand representative

  • Taste premium rums

  • Attend brand seminars (RSVP only as space is limited. More details soon)

  • Mingle with industry colleagues

SESSION #2 -  VIP Grand Tasting Session consists of a 5.5-hour program (2 - 7:30 pm) offering the attendees the opportunity to:

  • 2.5 Hour early admission

  • VIP Exclusive tasting cup from Glencairn or Neat Glass

  • Taste premium rums

  • Access to 2 VIP Seminars (RSVP only as space is limited. More details soon)  

  • Attend other brand seminars (RSVP only as space is limited. More details soon)

  • Complimentary bar snacks

SESSION #3: General Admission Tasting Session consists of a 3-hour program (4:30 - 7:30 pm) offering the attendees the opportunity to:

Tickets: After completing your purchase on Eventbrite, you will receive an email confirmation with your attached PDF ticket(s).  You MUST print and bring your PDF tickets AND VALID PHOTO IDENTIFICATION to be admitted for the event.

Ticket Transfer Policy: You may gain entry to the event even if your name is not on your ticket ONLY so long as the barcode is scannable. Miami Rum Congress &/or its associates is not responsible if ticket(s) cannot be scanned and the order is under a different name than the person presenting the ticket.

Dress Code: All attendees must have the proper attire to enter the event. Beach clothing like bikinis, bathing suits, etc is not allowed. Management has the full right to deny entry to guests that dress code could be considered inappropriate. Management will advise guest alternatives or recommendations to be allowed entry to the event.

FAQs

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event? Yes, a Legal ID. Must be 21 Years or over to attend.  

I am part of the Trade, and I am buying a Trade Session ticket. Can I stay for other sessions? No.  Each session requires its corresponding individual ticket.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to the event? Best option: Lyft

For parking option: There is a public parking space near the venue. (Be responsible, don't drink & drive.)

Dress code requirements? It’s late spring, so please come relaxed yet ready to go to another venue afterward if you so choose.

Which session should I attend? Either session will be great and fun for any type of beverage enthusiast! We can gladly help with further questions, contact us.

My ticket has Feb dates, is that a problem? NO. Eventbrite has been updated and your ticket will work perfectly when scan. Have your ID.

COVID 19 Update: 1/17/2022 (10PM PST)

We humbly ask that you review the protocols below and our health and safety requirements and ensure you can comply with them in full.

Everyone in attendance –visitors, exhibitors, vendors, media, speakers, and staff SHOULD CONSIDER BEING FULLY VACCINATED IF YOU ARE ATTENDING THE MIAMI RUM CONGRESS (MRC).

MIAMI RUM CONGRESS Vaccination Recommendations

Everyone should consider being fully vaccinated with an FDA or WHO authorized vaccine before attending and participating of the 2022 MRC.

“Fully vaccinated” means the date of the event you are attending should be:

- at least 14 days after your second dose (must have been administered on or by Feb 26th, 2022) to attend on March 11th of an FDA or WHO authorized two-dose COVID-19 vaccine,

- at least 14 days after your second dose (must have been administered on or by Feb 27th, 2022) to attend on March 12th of an FDA or WHO authorized two-dose COVID-19 vaccine,

or

- at least 14 days after your single dose (must have been administered on or by Feb 26, 2021) to attend on March 11th of an FDA or WHO authorized single dose COVID-19 vaccine.

- at least 14 days after your single dose (must have been administered on or by Feb 27, 2021) to attend on March 12th of an FDA or WHO authorized single dose COVID-19 vaccine.

Additional Requirements

Per the latest CDC recommendations, all guests, including fully vaccinated guests, must wear a face mask while at the event. A properly worn face mask completely covers the mouth and nose.

Permitted Masks: KN95, N95, 3-ply Cloth, Surgical

Not Permitted Masks: Bandanas, Gaiters, Masks with Ventilators

The only exception to remove a face mask is while actively eating and/or drinking.

Anyone not adhering to the mask policy will be subject to ejection.


Everyone must also present a government-issued photo ID such as a driver’s license or passport confirming the participant is over the age of 21 and the name on the photo ID.

HEALTH & SAFETY ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

Please ensure that you have reviewed any advisories or restrictions that may be in place for travel to the United States and for travel to Miami.

Please be advised that the risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any event or public space, including MRC. Prior to purchasing a ticket for and attending MRC, please ensure you have read the latest CDC Guidelines for Prevention and the Terms of Service for Participation in any Event.

By attending MRC, you acknowledge this inherent risk and, as a condition of entering MRC, you acknowledge, understand, and confirm each of the following in accordance with applicable health guidelines:

- that you will abide by all MRC health-and-safety requirements;

- that you are not currently experiencing any of the following symptoms of COVID-19, as identified at CDC.gov, including, but not limited to:

-- Fever or chills

-- Cough

-- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

-- Fatigue

-- Muscle or body aches

-- Headache

-- New loss of taste or smell

-- Sore throat

-- Congestion or runny nose

-- Nausea or vomiting

-- Diarrhea

that prior to attending MRC you have not been in contact with someone with confirmed or suspected COVID-19 symptoms without completing a 14-day quarantine; that you are not under any self-quarantine orders.
