ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Bruce F. Brown, Production/Lighting Designer and Technical Director. Bruce hails from Michigan where he received a BA in Theatre Directing and Design from Michigan State University. In 1984 he moved to Fort Lauderdale where he spent 33 years teaching at Dillard Center for the Arts as he developed countless theatre technicians who are working on Broadway and in theatres around the globe. Bruce retired from Dillard in June, 2016 and has opened his own Design, Production, & Theatrical Consulting Company (BFB Designs, LLC) and continues to develop his professional design resume as the resident lighting designer for several South Florida based Dance Companies including his long time relationship with Florida’s Premier Modern Dance Company, Dance Now! Miami. His concert lighting designs have toured throughout Florida, New York, New Jersey, Missouri, Maryland, California and Illinois.  Internationally, he has designed in Florence and Rome, Italy; Cascais, Portugal; Oaxaca, Chetumal, and Chihuahua, Mexico; San Pedro Sula, Honduras; San Jose, Costa Rica; and Amsterdam, Netherlands.
