MIA Sustainability Symposium 2026

As sustainability moves rapidly from commitment to implementation, accountants and finance professionals are increasingly central to how organisations measure performance, manage risk, strengthen governance, deliver credible disclosures and translate sustainability ambitions into long term business value.

The year 2026 marks an important phase for corporate Malaysia as organisations continue to prepare for and implement sustainability reporting requirements under the National Sustainability Reporting Framework (NSRF), which incorporates the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards through a phased adoption approach.

Expectations are also increasing around the quality of sustainability data, climate-related and value-chain information, governance, assurance readiness, and the integration of sustainability considerations into financial and strategic decision-making.

Returning for its second edition, the event has been rebranded from MIA Sustainability Showcase to the MIA Sustainability Symposium 2026 (MIA SS 2026). While the new name reflects its growing emphasis on knowledge exchange, thought leadership and meaningful dialogue, the event’s core objectives remain unchanged. MIA SS 2026 will bring together accountants, CFOs, finance leaders, sustainability professionals, regulators, assurance practitioners, advisers, financial institutions and technology providers for a one-day event dedicated to turning sustainability knowledge into practical action.

Through thought-leadership sessions, practical case studies, solution demonstrations and cross-sector collaboration, MIA SS 2026 will explore how the accountancy profession can move beyond compliance, from reporting sustainability performance to strengthening trust, resilience and long-term value creation.
