About this Event
The Students' Federation of India - United Kingdom (SFI-UK) and SOAS Ambedkar Society invite you to commemorate India’s 77th Republic Day with a lecture on the alarming repeal of the rural employment programme, MGNREGA and the attack on the right to work.
The first speaker, Dr Surbhi Kesar, is a Senior Lecturer in Economics at SOAS London and co-author of the book, ‘Decolonizing Economics: An Introduction’. Her work focuses on the informal economy, economic growth and social exclusion through a South-centric critical framework of study.
The second speaker, Com. Vikram Singh, is the Joint Secretary of the All India Agricultural Workers Union (AIAWU), former General Secretary of the Students' Federation of India (SFI) and a leading figure in India's agrarian movement.
