About this Event
Rooted in Mexican artisan traditions, hojalata has long been used to create vibrant mirrors, frames, religious icons, wall décor, and ornamental designs found throughout homes and celebrations.
In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn the foundational techniques of embossing tin — including transferring designs, creating raised patterns, texturing, shaping, and finishing. You’ll explore how to safely work with tin sheets while developing your own unique design.
While we’ll teach traditional methods and motifs inspired by Mexican folk art, participants are encouraged to create a piece that feels personal. Projects may include wall art, hanging décor, mobiles, decorative frames, or other imaginative creations.
All materials provided. No prior experience necessary.
