About this Event

My name is Ruth Correa, I was born in Zacatecas, Mexico. At the age of 3 my family and I moved to Guadalajara, Jalisco. There I started dancing Folklorico at the age of 3 years old first in festivals and at 6 years old I joined the Ballet Folklorico of the University of Guadalajara where I danced until I was 19 years old.

Shortly after that I moved to Oakland California and started dancing with a group here in the Bay Area.

Now I have my own adult group as well as several children's mini-groups. My love for dancing and the devotion I have to my community fills me with pride and I am proud to teach my traditions.
