Napjaink két meghatározó drámai tenorja, Michael Fabiano és Brian Jagde alakítja Verdi monumentális Shakespeare-tragédiája, a sokak által az olasz opera csúcsának tartott Otello embert próbáló címszerepét. A közönségkedvenc szoprán, Ailyn Pérez most először lép a Met színpadára a tragikus sorsú Desdemona szerepében, ármánykodó Jagoként partnere a bariton Artur Ruciński. A Met teljes zenekarát és kórusát megszólaltató, sodró erejű Verdi-opera Michele Mariotti vezényletével hangzik fel.
A közvetítés eredeti nyelven, magyar és angol nyelvű feliratokkal látható.
