As we celebrate 35 years as Pittsburgh Theological Seminary’s Metro-Urban Institute, we embrace this time as a Sankofa moment, where we are looking back as we go forward centered in community, harnessed by hope, judged by justice, and led by love. We hope you will plan to join us for this full day.
10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Intensive Course at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary with Bible Scholar Dr. Obery M. Hendricks, Jr., one of the foremost commentators on the intersection of religion and political economy in America. He is the most widely read, and perhaps the most influential African American biblical scholar writing today. Dr. Hendricks is a visiting scholar at Columbia University; a visiting professor at Union Theological Seminary; and Emeritus Professor of Biblical Interpretation at New York Theological Seminary.
6:00 p.m. 35th Anniversary Banquet will take place at Hosanna House, 807 Wallace Ave., Pittsburgh. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.
Must register/rsvp by October 19 to attend.
