Put on your dancing shoes and get ready to feel the beat at Metro Art Presents: Salsa Night at Union Station! On Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 7PM to 10PM enjoy a live performance by the dynamic band La Verdad, led by Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Gabriel Gonzalez. The band will perform a vibrant mix of original and traditional salsa, cha-cha, boogaloo, funk, cumbia, and Latin soul, with DJ Tosstones spinning tunes between sets.
Start the evening off with dance lessons led by instructors Laroye Aña and Jhesus Aponte!

La Verdad is the premier West Coast Latin music ensemble, capturing the essence of the Los Angeles Latino experience. Led by award-winning singer-songwriter Gabriel Gonzalez (Quetzal, Boogaloo Assassins), La Verdad offers a dynamic blend of traditional and original music, spanning salsa, cha-cha, boogaloo, cumbia, Latin soul, and more.
Gabriel Gonzalez is a multi-talented artist whose career spans film, music, commercials, theater, and live performances. Internationally recognized, he began his career at age seven, starring in top-grossing Mexican films and recording his first album by age eight. Over the years, Gabriel has toured with iconic artists like Bruno Mars, Juan Gabriel, Los Van Van, and Anderson .Paak.
Indira Leneman, also known as Laroye Aña, is a Cuban choreographer, dancer, model, and actress. She has worked with Cuban and American dance companies and appeared on TV shows like Verano en TV, Premios Lucas, Jimmy Kimmel Live, and The Late Late Show with James Corden. Laroye has collaborated with renowned choreographers such as Chloe Arnold and Lyrik Cruz, performing at venues like the Hollywood Bowl and Disneyland Adventure Park.
She has taught at international festivals, universities, and studios, including UCLA and USC. In 2021, she founded Ocandeniye Dance Company and created a repertoire reflecting Cuban culture. Laroye also serves as a choreographer for Conga Kids, developing the educational show Discover the Diaspora, presented in schools across LA and Orange County.
Jhesus Aponte’s life has been shaped by the rhythm of dance, taking him to international acclaim as a dancer and choreographer. With deep roots in Puerto Rico’s cultural richness, Aponte’s journey is a testament to his talent, passion, and dedication to the art of movement.
His professional debut marked the start of a remarkable career. As a choreographer, Aponte’s work has graced stages like The West End in the UK, Off-Broadway, and regional theaters across the USA, Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico. His creativity has shone through collaborations with stars, concerts, TV productions, music videos, and commercials, leaving a lasting impact on every project.
DJ Tosstones Aponte is a Grammy-nominated musician, composer, and producer known for his boundless artistry and Afro-Caribbean sounds. Hailing from Puerto Rico, he has built a successful career as an independent artist and band leader, merging genres like salsa, hip-hop, reggaeton, afrobeats, and jazz.
The richness of Puerto Rican percussion and dance deeply shaped Tosstones’ expression, allowing him to blend music with movement. His expertise in dance and choreography enhances his role as an educator and creative director, making him a dynamic cultural force in the music world.
