Metro Art Presents KJazz Tracks at Union Station!
Metro Art and KJazz 88.1 FM are once again teaming up for KJazz Tracks at Union Station to kick off Jazz Appreciation Month on Saturday, April 5 from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Hosted by KJazz DJs José Rizo and Rhonda Hamilton, the free, open to the public concert will host live performances in the station’s historic Ticket Concourse and will feature three distinctly talented artists, including headliner Kiefer Trio with supporting acts Salami Rose Joe Louis and David Binney Action Trio.

Kiefer Trio, known for their signature blend of jazz and hip-hop production. Kiefer performances with longtime collaborators Luke Titus and Pera Krstajic captures an authenticity, spontaneous energy, evident in their live album Something For Real. With past collaborations including Drake and earning a Grammy for his work with Anderson .Paak, Kiefer has cemented himself as a key voice in contemporary jazz. Recent highlights include a triumphant NPR Tiny Desk Concert, sold-out performances at Blue Note NYC, and an upcoming Asia tour.

Salami Rose Joe Louis is a fearless sonic explorer who weaves together intricate jazz harmonies, dreamlike beats, and science-fiction-inspired storytelling. Her critically acclaimed debut, Zdenka 2080, was nominated for Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Awards Best Album of 2020. She has toured with Flying Lotus, Toro y Moi, Clairo, and MNDSGN, with recent projects including the 2024 collaborative album Sarah with Flanafi and a dynamic live EP showcasing her quartet’s improvisational energy.

David Binney, hailed as a visionary jazz composer and saxophonist has worked with jazz icons like Gil Evans, Maria Schneider, Jim Hall, and Medeski Martin & Wood. With his Action Trio, featuring drummer Louis Cole and bassist Pera Krstajic, Binney continues to push jazz into new territories. A prolific artist with 22 albums as a leader, he has also produced for Donny McCaslin and Lost Tribe and contributed to David Bowie’s final album, Blackstar.
