What is it to be? (Metaphysics) 🤔 🧐 [Note the date: September 9!]
Metaphysics is a philosophical inquiry into the most basic and general features of reality and our place in it. 💡
So what is being? What is existence? What is being itself, over and above the concepts we attribute to it? Perhaps it is only the attributes? 🧐
Perhaps asking these questions hides the question of being itself? Maybe metaphysics run the risk of forgetting how we are beings in the world? ... but what is the world? 🤔
If you would like to ask what it is to be or not to be, join the philosophical café on Tuesday, September 9, at the Bohemian Café on Strand Street, Douglas. ☕ We start at 19:00, but please come early if you want coffee with the discussion! ⌚☕
The Manx Philosophical Café is open, free, friendly, and doesn’t require any kind of previous knowledge. ☕ We meet the first Tuesday of every month (except this month; note the date: September 9!).
