Mary Zimmerman’s Metamorphoses brings Ovid’s ancient Greek and Roman mythology to life. Centering on the idea of water and its restorative qualities, our production is set in and around a large pool of water on stage. Metamorphoses cautions the audience about the pursuit of the seven deadly sins through Greek and Roman tales, ultimately resulting in a metamorphosis for those characters. This warning is beautifully juxtaposed by Mary Zimmerman’s use of poetic language.Content Warning: Suitable for mature audiences only. Contains strobe lighting, haze, staged physical violence, profanity, discussions and depictions of self-harm, incest, blood, sex, suicide, and drowning.
