About this Event
Step into a speculative future where science, storytelling, and taste converge: In this immersive workshop by Kristina Pulejkova and Diethard Mattanovich, participants will explore microbial life as a foundation for survival in closed systems and together we will rewrite soul food recipes into delicious meals fit for the fictional space mission aboard the Möbious.
Bring the recipes for making your favourite childhood meals, and work together with Diethard and Kristina to transform these into the unique, microbial cuisine that nourishes astronauts on the Metabolic Guide starship. Together, we will taste some of the staple cooking ingredients aboard the starship (thanks to the cooking of artist-chef Michael Kalivoda) and will use yeast-based modelling clay and food dyes to create small models of our favourite meals. Finally, the objects will be scanned and made into 3D objects that we can turn into Augmented Reality (AR) prototypes that float in zero gravity, to fully capture the atmosphere of serving food in space.
No previous experience in 3D scanning or modelling is needed, come with clothes that you are comfortable to do messy work in.
Note: The event will be held in english.
