Drummer and Composer Gabriel Gravagno returns to Colorado from NYC to release and showcase his latest album, “Enoument” a collection of tunes that reflects his time in Colorado growing up and creating a music scene around the iconic Mercury Cafe. It is also a musical goodbye to the Denver Jazz community as he relocates to NYC.
Gabriel Gravagno is the leader and founder of Messenger Music Collective, a Denver based consortium focused on playing contemporary original music that pulls influence from world music, jazz, poetry, and free improvisation.
He is a passionate music educator and performer, and believes strongly in the idea of music as a spiritual practice and ritual.
He holds a music performance degree from CU Denver, and has studied with musicians such as Art Lande, Colin Stranahan, Todd Reid, Ari Hoenig, Allison Miller, Harold Sumney, Matt Wilson, Shane Endsley, Dawn Clement, Ron Miles, and Tommy Campbell, and has shared the stage with musicians such as Khabu Young, Shane Endsley, Brad Goode, Greg Gisbert, Chris Jonas, John Gunther, Rob Kassinger, Charles Blenzig, Hugh Ragin, Eric Benny Bloom, and Peter Stoltzman, and at Iconic Venues such as, Dazzle, The Bluebird, The Brown Palace, The Century Room, Club Evans, Red Rocks, and more.
