Message Box Practice Session

Working on a Message Box? Looking for some feedback? Come join us for a practice session!

One of the most common requests we get from people after a workshop is for even more opportunities to receive feedback on their messages and to work on incorporating that feedback.. We created these open sessions to meet this need! Join COMPASS staff for a one-hour practice session to practice and receive feedback on your Message Box. Bring your draft Message Box and be prepared to walk the group through your key messages and get feedback from others. Please plan to attend the full one-hour session so that you can both give and receive feedback!

These sessions are free, but if you’re able, please consider making a donation so we can continue to create more spaces for learning and growth.

Please note this is not a workshop. Previous experience with the Message Box is expected. If you are new to the Message Box and want to learn how to use it to strengthen your  science communication, please first attend one of our Introduction to Strategic Science Communication workshops before participating in a Message Box practice session.

This workshop is open to anyone who has taken a workshop with us in the past, is familiar with the Message Box, and would like an opportunity to practice and receive feedback from COMPASS staff and peers.

The workshop will be held on the video conferencing platform Zoom. You will need a webcam, microphone, and stable internet connection. Recommended upload/download speed is 5Mbps/5Mbps. Test your internet speed here by clicking “run speed test."
