Are you looking to start a healthcare career? Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust are recruiting for a Health Care Support Worker (HCSW) Level 2 Apprenticeship, with vacancies going live in October 2026.

The apprenticeship

• 8 months, Level 2 HCSW
• Based at Maghull Health Park, working across Mersey Care's Secure Division
• Weekly college sessions at Hugh Baird College
• Hands-on experience in secure mental health and learning disability services

Pay and progression

• Band 2 starting salary: £25,272 (plus possible enhancements)
• On completion, potential progression to Band 3 Nursing Assistant (£25,760)

Eligibility

• Must not already hold a Level 2 Health and Social Care qualification or apprenticeship
• Must have been in the UK for 3 years or more
• Visa must be valid for the course length plus 6 months
