Merl Kitto’s Celebration Of Life

I want to thank everyone for all the love and support you’ve shown since Merl passed away on June 27th.
I have planned a Celebration of Life in Merl’s “happy place”—his garage—on August 29, 2026, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
Please come celebrate Merl Kitto with us that day.
I will have all of his beautiful handmade canes available for anyone who would like one (until they’re gone). He spent countless hours searching for just the right wood for the stems and handles, and he loved every minute of it. Whenever someone needed a cane, he would either make a special one just for them or search through the ones he had already made to find the perfect fit. He missed doing this so much during the last year and a half when he was no longer able to.
Merl also loved golf, and we shared many wonderful years enjoying the game together. He loved skiing as well and spent several winters volunteering with the Challenge Center, teaching “them kids,” as he affectionately called them, to downhill ski. He knew each one by name and loved talking about them. Some learned right away, while others took a couple of years, but his heart was always full when someone finally made it down the hill on their own. The joy on their faces meant everything to him. He maintained several of those friendships for the rest of his life.
Please join us as we celebrate Merl’s life, share stories, and remember the wonderful man he was.
