Join us at Missouri Southern State University in the Billingsly Student Center-Connor Ballroom, for a trauma conference. Our keynote speaker is Robert L. Mabry, MD, MBA who is now the founder of RLM Solutions, a consulting company he founded that is dedicated to improving emergency health care systems.At the conclusion of the event, the learner will be better able to:
1. Explain the use of tourniquets in extremity hemorrhage control, identify differences in prehospital airway management, and the use of cricothyrotomy in the traumatically injured patient.
2. Explain and employ the management components for the acronym M.A.R.C.H. (massive hemorrhage, airway, respirations, circulation, hypothermia)
3. Identify the processes and principles related to prehospital blood transfusion.
4. Demonstrate the use of teamwork, leadership skills, and nontechnical skills associated with trauma team management.
5. Recognize the different types of shock and employ and analyze hemodynamic data to aid in appropriately treating traumatically injured patients in shock.
6. Discuss the updated brain death guidelines and describe natural death versus brain death.
7. Apply the tools and approaches that best aid the trauma team in treating critically ill/ injured children.
Registration fee includes syllabus materials, electronic certificate of attendance, breakfast, lunch, and refreshment breaks. Registration deadline is April 26th.
