Mental Health Matters: A Fireside Chat With Dr. Kensa Gunter
About this Event
Georgia State University's Black Student Athlete Association (BSAA) is hosting a Mental Health Matters event with Dr. Kensa Gunter, a psychologist who is the director of Mind Health for the NBA/WNBA, on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, from 6:30–8:00 PM at Center Parc Stadium, Champions Level.
We’ll be talking about the importance of mental health, cultural identity, and how both tie into sports performance, wellness, and the student-athlete experience. Dr. Gunter will give a short presentation, then we’ll have a conversation-style Q&A and open it up for questions from the audience.
Even though this is a BSAA event, it is open to all athletes because this is an important topic that everyone can benefit from hearing and being a part of.
Food will be catered, so definitely come hungry. Also, no pressure to dress up — we know a lot of athletes may be coming straight from practice, so just come as you are.
We are also opening it up to all schools from Georgia State, Georgia Tech, the AUC, and Kennesaw State too, so it should be a really good space to connect and have an important conversation.
