About this Event

According to the National Institute of Mental Health, nearly one in five U.S. adults lives with a mental illness (44.7 million in 2016).

Unfortunately, unpredictability is the nature of a mental illness. An emotional crises can even occur when treatment plans have been followed. If you or someone you know has a mental illness, is having emotional difficulties, or is concerned about their mental health, there are ways to get help.

In this training, participants learn about mental health and substance use problems. Additionally, participants learn to identify, understand, and respond in a safe and culturally responsive manner to a person's mental health needs. Many people, wanting to live a better life, wait for help to appear. Mental health first aid empowers you to assist and connect people with needed mental health care.
