About this Event
HOTBHN Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Coordinator Joshua Valentine, The Links, Inc. Waco-Central Texas Chapter, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Waco Alumnae Chapter have partnered to present an opportunity at the Heart of Texas Goodwill to the heart of Texas community to learn how MHFA can benefit you and those around you.
The Links, Inc. Waco-Central Texas Chapter, founded in 1974, is an international organization with more than 12,000 civic-minded women committed to improving the lives of men, women, and children through service programs. This chapter supports and collaborates with various organizations in the Waco, Marlin, Temple, Harker Heights, Killeen, and surrounding communities. Organizations include the American Cancer Society, Alzheimer's Association, Susan G. Komen, Habitat for Humanity, Restoration Haven, Talitha Koum, and area schools.
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Waco Alumnae Chapter was founded in 1943 by 15 college-educated African American women in Central Texas who wanted an opportunity to continue their sisterhood beyond their college experience. Over 300,000 women have joined the organization and established their chapter, providing a place where Deltas could continue to inspire young women, sustain their culture, and continue their tradition of sisterhood.
