Mental Health First Aid Instructor Training
About this Event
Take this FREE three-day course and learn how to facilitate Mental Health First Aid through self-paced pre-work and expert-led coaching. This instructor training will teach you how to:
- Teach the MHFA curriculum with fidelity
- Teach the 5-step MHFA Action Plan (ALGEE)
- Show the impact of mental health and substance use challenges
- Explain that recovery is possible
- Share self-help strategies
- Use MHFA technology
This instructor training course is being offered free of charge by Canvas Health in collaboration with NAMI and the Minnesota Department of Health. The training will take place at the Homewood Suites Rochester Mayo Clinic and a room block is available to attendees. Lunch will be included for all 3 training days.
***Instructor candidates must have earned a certificate in a Mental Health First Aid Adult or Mental Health First Aid Youth First Aider course within the past three years before completing their Instructor Training application. This requirement ensures a foundational understanding of the MHFA content and principles, which is essential for effective training delivery and success as an MHFA Instructor.
