About the Event
Zoya Sirota from Trilogy Mental Wellbeing (community-based organization at https://www.trilogyinc.org) leads this FREE 2-hour evening to further strengthen our fringe community! Zoya will be leading a Mental Health Awareness Training (MHAT) aimed to reduce stigma and increase knowledge, skills, confidence, and resources to engage with community members experiencing mental health and/or substance use challenges. MHAT explores barriers individuals experience in accessing care, the impact of stigma and how we can combat it, as well as an overview of signs and symptoms of various mental illnesses.

A Note from the Coordinator
Hi there - it's Daria Debonair! I’m a burlesque performer/community member and also a mental health advocate/LCSW. I’m excited to coordinate this event to start an authentic conversation about the intersection between the healing arts, the individual and collective traumas (and joys!) that we may hold, and various paths to support our own journeys and those we live in community with. I want to invite you to join us in this community care event. This will be a safe space for all bodies. All of the Newport Community is welcome, however priority will be given to the Chicago-area burlesque and drag community (regardless of Newport affiliation).
