Men's Mental Health and Wellbeing Workshop

Welcome to the Men's Mental Health and Wellbeing Workshop. Join us at the Boiler House Make-and-mend Centre in Moss Side for an afternoon dedicated to discussing and improving men's mental health. This will be a structured workshop facilitated by a therapist which will combine group discussion with sharing of helpful information and resources. The workshop will explore various questions and topics, including:

• What does it mean to be a man in the modern world?
• Why are so many boys and men struggling with loneliness?
• What is expected of men in terms of their gender role, and how does this impact their mental health?
• What does positive mental health look like for men?
• What are the barriers for men seeking support, and how can we overcome them?

Whilst the focus of the workshop is on men's mental health, people of all genders are welcome to attend, including those who have men in their lives they may be looking to support. We also seek to affirm diverse expressions of masculinity and so welcome members of the LGBTQ+ community, including trans men and non-binary people.

The workshop is free to attend but spaces are limited, so please book a ticket if you would like to come, and let me know if you change your mind so the space can be offered to someone else.

Accessibility

The workshop space is on the ground floor and is wheelchair accessible. There is also an accessible toilet on the ground floor, and parking on site allows for barrier free access if needed, though space is limited so most parking is on nearby residential streets.

Access to the building is down a short ramp on one side and a set of stairs on the other (see diagram below).
