Mend with Friends Workshop #3: Sashiko Basics

What to Expect

First hour or so: learn about Sashiko, a traditional Japanese visible mending technique.

• Brief history, tools, general rules
• Follow along with a step-by-step demonstration

Remaining time: work on your own mending projects, share advice and support. We will provide some basic tools and materials

What to bring:

• needles, pins, thread, embroidery thread, fabric scraps if you have them
• one or more items of clothing to mend

Participation is free, but donations are welcome (via Eventbrite or cash/venmo accepted at the event). Street parking along Cesar Chavez Blvd and Capitol St. Enter through the glass doors on Harrisburg Blvd.
