Mencap Supported Internship Matching Day with Tesco Superstore, St Peters

Is your young adult interested in a future career in retail, customer service, stock replenishment, checkout support, or a similar practical role? Join us in person at a Tesco superstore in Worcester for a friendly and informative event designed to help families explore what a supported internship could offer from September 2026.

This Matching Day is a chance for young adults with mild learning disabilities to get a real feel for working in a busy retail environment. They will meet Tesco colleagues, learn about the skills involved in helping customers, keeping shelves stocked, maintaining tidy displays, and being part of a supportive store team.

Parents and carers will also have the opportunity to find out how Mencap’s Supported Internship Programme works, what support is provided on placement, and how Skills Coaches help interns build confidence, independence, communication skills, and employability skills at a pace that works for them.
