About this Event

On September 19th at 7:00pm St. Aidan’s Anglican Church will be open to the public. Come one, come all, Kansas City. Bryan Hollon will address the heart of our humanity.

C.S. Lewis once said that the “chest” is the seat of trained sentiment and ordered desire. But he feared that our modern age is producing “men without chests.” In The Abolition of Man, widely regarded as one of the most prophetic books of the last century, Lewis offers a penetrating diagnosis of a civilization that has lost its capacity for ordered love. Yet few have noticed its heart, the way the Prayer Book is a school for the affections, forming within us a liturgical imagination. To worship and pray is to preserve what Lewis feared modernity was destroying.

Bryan Hollon, president of Trinity Anglican Seminary, will deliver his talk, followed by an open mic to ask Bryan questions.

Childcare is provided. All are welcome.
