After a series of successful events in Melbourne, we’re bringing Slow Dating to Sydney for the very first time! ✨

🏮 Meet Our Sydney Venue Partner: Kid Kyoto

For our Sydney debut, we’re taking over Kid Kyoto, our wonderful in-venue partner and one of the CBD’s best hidden gems.

Tucked away down Bridge Lane, Kid Kyoto is a contemporary Japanese izakaya filled with bold flavours, playful energy and intimate corners. It’s warm, atmospheric and just a little unexpected—the perfect setting for good conversation and a touch of chemistry. 🌹

Come for a fun afternoon, meet some lovely new people and perhaps find someone you’d like to continue the evening with over dinner.

We know—it sounds a little ironic for an offline experience! But we believe technology should help create human interaction, not replace it.

Our web app will guide you through the experience, introduce each conversation round.

Please bring a charged smartphone with internet access. After that, you can put the scrolling aside and focus on the person in front of you. 💗

🍽️ What to Expect

Think of the experience as a three-course journey.

🥂 The Entrée: Arrive and Mingle

We’ll begin with a relaxed 10–15-minute mingling session.

Settle in, enjoy your complimentary welcome drink and start getting to know the room. You might meet someone you’ll speak with later—or discover an unexpected spark before the official rounds even begin.

Your friendly host will welcome everyone, explain how the experience works and help you feel comfortable throughout the afternoon.

🍜 The Main Course: Slow Dating

Next, you’ll enjoy approximately six to eight one-on-one conversation rounds, depending on final attendance and the guest mix on the day.

Each conversation lasts around 12 minutes: enough time to move beyond small talk, but short enough to keep things light and exciting.

Our app will guide each round and offer optional conversation prompts. Use them whenever you need a little help—or forget all about them when the conversation starts flowing naturally. ✨

The experience is designed around one-on-one conversations. Occasionally, last-minute cancellations or no-shows may mean we need to make small adjustments, but our host will always do their best to make the experience comfortable, balanced and fun for everyone.

🍰 Dessert: Reconnect and Keep Talking

We’ll finish with another open mingling session.

This is your chance to:

• Say hello to someone you didn’t meet during the rounds
• Continue a conversation that ended too soon
• Reconnect with someone who caught your attention
• Perhaps make plans to continue the evening over dinner 💕

There’s no awkward rush and no pressure to decide anything immediately—just a little more time to see where the conversation might go.

💌 After the Event: Mutual Matching

After the event, you’ll be invited to privately select the people you would be interested in seeing again.

There is no public scoring, awkward rejection or pressure to exchange contact details on the spot.

If you both select each other, it’s a match! We’ll let you know privately so you can decide what happens next. 💘

Your choices remain confidential, and a match is only revealed when the interest is mutual.
