Men Make 2.2

After last year's resounding success we have decided to run Men Make 2 again in 2025 as part of Sydney Craft Week . This year we are partnering with Darlo Drama, Sydney's premier acting school for adults.

This 2- hour workshop is aimed at but not exclusively for men and boys. Men can bring a mate, son, partner. Women can bring their manbag.

Part One: Hungry Birds. Focusing on folding hyperbolic paraboloids (the shape of pringles and theoretically the universe), then fixing them to a mechatronic device we call the ‘mini nest’. Operating on an ultrasonic sensor, the nest reveals a squawking illuminated surprise when activated by movement. Is it a bird or is it a robot? You find out.

Part Two: Bucky’s Circus. Here, we explore Buckminster Fuller’s Cuboctahedron by folding paper units that connect together to make a spherical form reminiscent of Bucky’s ‘vector equilibrium’. Big words. Small balls. Tons of fun.
