An embodied circle to explore the alive relational desires between men and women.
About this Event

AN EMBODIED CIRCLE TO EXPLORE THE RELATIONAL DESIRES THAT ARE ALIVE BETWEEN THE MEN AND WOMEN IN THE SPACE

Tensions are currently high between men and women.

This space asks the question: "In this moment, how do you most desire to be met by the opposite sex?"

Desire, in this context, can be so much wider than sexual desires (though those are welcome to be name too).

Desires welcomed in this circle start with the question: "What would open you?"

Perhaps you want to be met in your anger, or you would like a specific quality of presence or holding. If you can think of a desire, and it is alive for you, you are welcome to name it.

If there is mutual consent, members of the opposite sex may give you a physical imprint of having this desire met.

Though this is not guaranteed, and the practice here is having the courage to identify and ask for what you want. To stay open, even if the other person is a "No".

This circle is also a practice in staying strong in our boundaries and clear in what we are a "yes" or a "no" to.

It is about hearing and expressing desires, without any attachment or entitlement to having them met.

It is about having a conversation about what we really want and need, not from a place of criticism, but from a place of owning our own truth.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THIS EVENT:

  • Warm up exercises to create co-regulation and as much embodied safety in the group as possible.
  • A personal exploration of your relational needs and desires.
  • An embodied circle where your desires are invited to be named. If a particular desire feels alive in the group, the invitation will be to move into the centre of the circle and explore the desire in an embodied way (again nothing is expected of other participants in terms of taking part, unless they are in full consent).

WHAT IS AN EMBODIED CIRCLE?

  • An embodied circle, in this context, is the format created by Christian Pankhurst of Heart IQ, whom the facilitator Nicola has trained extensively with.
  • This circle modality draws on the modalities of a sharing circle, family constellations, field work and circling.
  • It is a circle that invites your nervous system to unwind and experience the places where energy is bound up in shame or repression.

WHO IS THIS FOR:

  • Anybody age 18+ of any race or sexuality.
  • People who are happy to identify as either a man or a woman for the purpose of this circle.
  • People with a solid integration of boundaries and consent. Who are comfortable expressing their own boundaries and receiving the boundaries of others without charge.
  • People who have taken part in personal development and circles before (even if not in this format)

WHO IS THIS NOT FOR?

  • People who have a lot of active alive trauma in relation to the opposite sex that would exceed their capacity to self hold and who would benefit more from 1:1 trauma therapy right now.
  • People who want to come to this space to intiate romantic or sexual relationships with other participants. This event is intended as a transpersonal healing space, not as a space to look for personal romantic connections.
  • People who would not be comfortable with a big gender divide. For example, being the only man, or the only woman in the circle. Or the circle being all men or all women. We work with the field, as it is organically organised and trust the intelligence of that. Not with actively trying to gender balance the space. Nobody will ever be expected to do anything they are not a full 'yes' to, and the event works very even if there are no compatible desires.
