SBC-Roanoke was chosen by Focus Features (yes, THAT Focus Features) for a complimentary screening of their newest book-to-movie adaption of the 2017 Booker Prize finalist novel by Bernard MacLaverty, Midwinter Break! Attendees of this movie screening will also receive a complimentary copy of the novel to take home with you!
Two caveats before we get into the specifics:
1. No non-SBC member plus ones. What do we mean? We want this to be an exclusive perk of helping us grow SBC-Roanoke into the community that it has become. If your plus one hasn’t made it to a meetup, we respectfully request that they remain at home for the evening so we can cater to our active members and ensure everyone has a seat in the theater.
2. While tickets are complimentary, we’re obviously trying to cater to our active members. We’d prefer this be no one’s first SBC event. For that reason, a 2024 or 2025 SBC Roanoke bookmark will serve as your stand-in ticket to this event so we can ensure members take priority. Don’t have a bookmark but actively attend SBC meetups? Reach out to me asap and we’ll work on work around.
This event will be held Tuesday, February 24th at 7pm at AMC Roanoke 10 (Tanglewood location). We will open the doors at 6:15pm and seats will be given on a first come, first served member basis. Show runtime is ~90 minutes. A group picture/selfie will be taken at the event. Concessions will be available for purchase but this is an otherwise free event for active members.
