Mae’r trysorau Cymreig Melys yn ôl! Wedi'i ffurfio yn 98, cafodd Melys gydnabyddiaeth yn gyflym gyda chefnogaeth gynnar Radio 1 gan Mark Radcliffe, Steve Lamacq, a Marc Riley, gyda'r olaf yn eu chwarae ar Radio 1 am y tro cyntaf. Aeth y band ymlaen i chwarae 11 sesiwn ar gyfer John Peel a Huw Stephens, gan ennill pleidlais gyhoeddus Peel yn y siart Festive 50 yn 2001 gyda'u cân, Chinese Whispers. Ar ôl sabothol hir maent bellach wedi dychwelyd ar ôl taith lwyddiannus o’r DU gyda’u hen ffrindiau The Wedding Present. Yn sgil eu llwyddiant diweddar, mae'r band wedi rhyddhau albwm BBC Sessions ac maen nhw’n cymysgu albwm o ddeunydd newydd, gydag un sengl a thaith fach o Gymru wedi eu trefnu ar gyfer mis Tachwedd.**********
Welsh treasures Melys are back in action! Formed in 98, Melys quickly gained recognition with early Radio 1 support from Mark Radcliffe, Steve Lamacq, and Marc Riley, with the latter giving them their debut Radio 1 plays. The band went on to play 11 sessions and outside broadcasts for John Peel and Huw Stephens, winning Peel’s public voted Festive 50 chart in 2001 with their song, Chinese Whispers. After a long sabbatical they have now returned after a successful UK tour with old friends The Wedding Present. On the back of their recent success, the band have released a BBC Sessions album and are just mixing an album of new material with a single release and mini tour in late November.
