MELT

Melt is a group of seven friends from New York City. And it shows. As NPR writes, “There’s a lot to love about Melt… each of these separately talented performers express themselves like one groovy superorganism.” Now in colleges around the Northeast, Melt unites on weekends to play highly energetic shows full of dancing, funky horns, and jam sections that lead into catchy

hooks––or as Live for Live Music calls it, “pop-jazz espresso in song form.” Planning to release their first EP in the next year, Melt is excited to take their sound across the country and grow their community along the way.

The band started in 2017 at the end of high school. Only weeks after they formed, Melt won a battle of the bands which they used to record and release their first single, “Sour Candy.” The song quickly went viral on Reddit and reached #5 on Billboard’s U.S. Viral 50 chart and #6 in Canada. Since then, Melt has continued to grow in unconventional ways, periodically releasing singles that they record in between semesters.

Driven simply by a love of what they do, each show is different from the last, keeping their passionate and label-defying fan base on their toes. Melt has repeatedly sold out shows in their hometown at venues Mercury Lounge and The Knitting Factory. Their distinctive sound has landed the band spots on a wide range of opening bills, notably for soul-pop band Lawrence and jam band Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe. Melt has also played festivals around the country including Southwest Invasion (Austin, TX), the Rhode Island Music and Arts Festival, and the Pleasantville Music Festival (NY).

Melt is: Eric Dickstein (vocals, keys), Veronica Stewart-Frommer (lead vocals), Marlo Shankweiler (guitar), Josh Greenzeig (drums), Nick Sare (saxophone), Lucas Saur (bass), and Aaron Alcouloumre (trumpet).

THE BRAZEN YOUTH

Nicholas Lussier and Charles Dahlke formed the Brazen Youth within the otherworldly vacuum of the 300-year-old Ashlawn Farm, located in Lyme, Connecticut. Timeless and freeing, Ashlawn served as a perfect birthplace of the Brazen Youth's debut, The Ever Dying Bristlecone Man, A heavily conceptual record, Ever Dying is a world with endless nooks in which you can lose yourself, containing meticulous threads of layered tracks and arrangements that amplify the emotionally riveting nature of these lyric-driven songs, Upon adding Micah Rubin to the band's lineup, the Brazen Youth emerged with a wild-spirited presence into the East Coast scene, soon gaining an empowered and fresh fan Dase, Since then, the band has toured the US extensively, and released two more bodies of work: their sophomore record Primitive Initiative (2018) and their EP 15 Billion Eyes (2019), "Hometown", their first new song in over a year, is a glimpse into the exploration of one's becoming in the wake of tragedy. The Brazen Youth is currently diving into a new mind-frame for their next record to be released later this year.
