📍 Location: Wilsons Prom (Approximately 2 hour & 10minutes from Melbourne CBD on Public Holiday)
The next Social Hikes Australia event will be held at Wilson's Promontory and will span 3 days of hiking and exploring, plus 2 nights of camping.
This event is designed as a flexible hiking weekend. Your ticket gives you access to join any one, two, or all three of the organised hikes across the weekend.

🥾 Fitness Level
Please note this is not an easy hiking weekend.
This event is best suited for people with a moderate level of fitness. We recommend that attendees are comfortable walking for a few hours and ideally exercise at least once or twice a week.
We reserve the right to refuse attendance if we believe the hike may not be suitable or safe for someone based on the nature of the event.

⛺ Camping Information
Saturday 6 June to Sunday 7 June — 1 Night
Southern Section – Oberon Bay Hike-in Camping Area
This is a hike-in campsite, so you will need to walk around 2 hours from the car park to the campsite while carrying your own gear, including your tent, sleeping bag, food and water.
Please make sure you arrive early enough to reach the campsite before dark. Refer to the hiking plan and group chat updates for timing.
There is a supermarket near the car park area, around 2 hours away from the campsite, with staples and daily essentials such as bread, milk, ice and gas, as well as coffee and takeaway food. Please purchase anything you need before starting the hike.
Parks Victoria important rules and details:
• Drop toilets are available, but toilet paper is not supplied
• You will need to bring your own tent, sleeping bag, towel, food and drinks
• Carry lightweight food, as you must carry everything in and out
• The site is unpowered
• No campfires are allowed
• Rubbish must not be left behind, buried or placed in toilets. Everyone must carry their own rubbish out
• Please leave the campsite clean and tidy
• Keep to walking tracks at all times
• Group size limits may apply, so please follow Parks Victoria requirements

Sunday 7 June to Monday 8 June — 1 Night
Tidal River Campground
This campsite is next to the car park, so there is no hiking required to get to the campsite.
There is a supermarket near the car park area with staples and daily essentials such as bread, milk, ice and gas, as well as coffee and takeaway food.
Important details:
• The site is unpowered
• No campfires are allowed
• Flushing toilets are available, but toilet paper is not supplied
• You will need to bring your own sleeping bag, towel, food and drinks
• Maximum of 6 people per campsite
• Maximum of 2 vehicles per campsite
• Noise must be kept to a reasonable level at all times, especially after 11:00 pm
• Campsites must be kept neat, tidy and rubbish-free
• Alcohol is prohibited between 10:00 pm and 6:00 am, except within built accommodation and numbered campsites
• Failure to follow the conditions may result in non-refundable cancellation or eviction
If we have more than 2 cars per campsite, extra cars may need to be parked in a nearby townsuch as Sandy Point and Foster. This would be at your own risk and would need to be organised individually.

• Comfortable hiking shoes or runners with good grip

• Water bottle, ideally 2L - 5L +
• Snacks / lunch for the hikes
• Hat, sunscreen and sunglasses
• Warm layer / jumper
• Rain jacket, just in case
For camping:
• Carry water with you and/or know how to make untreated water safe for drinking at remote locations within Wilsons Prom
• Shower facility available at car park
• Tent
• Sleeping bag
• Sleeping mat / air mattress
• Extra blanket or warm sleeping layer
• Pillow
• Torch or headlamp
• Warm clothes for night
• Toiletries and towel
• Portable phone charger / power bank
• Food, drinks and cooking gear if needed
• Rubbish bag

- Please stick with the carpool arrangement you agree on.
- Avoid swapping drivers unless everyone is clearly informed and agrees.
- Petrol, parking, and other costs are not included in the ticket price. These should be agreed upon directly between the driver and passengers.

📍 Pick-Up Info
Drivers will share their preferred pick-up locations, such as major CBD train stations like Parliament, Richmond, South Yarra, Southern Cross, or North Melbourne.
For this hike, the nearest station to the trail is Pakenham, though drivers choose whichever spot is most convenient for them. Passengers can then join from those locations.

All tickets are $40 per person.
One ticket allows you to come to one, two or all three hikes.
This helps cover:
- Public liability insurance
- A $2.40 contribution per ticket directly to Parks Victoria
- Experienced guides with a tour operator license who know the trails well
- First aid kit and safety equipment for the group
Hiking: $20 per person (If you are coming for hiking only carpar fees apply)
Camping reservation contribution with the group: $20 per person for 2 nights
Total: $40 per person

Refund Policy:
Tickets are non-refundable unless the hike is cancelled or rescheduled.
Tickets cannot be transferred to another hike unless agreed with the organisers.

🌧 Rain Policy
If the forecast shows over 15 mm in 6 hours or 20+ mm during the day, we may postpone or adjust the hike to keep things safe and enjoyable. Slippery trails, flooding, and poor visibility are no fun or safe.
We’ll also reschedule for thunderstorms or if trails are still soaked from heavy rain the days before.
Light rain (under 5 mm/hour) is usually fine. We’ll check each hike case-by-case. Safety first 🌿
If it changes and gets heavier, we’ll reschedule for the following Sunday, 31 May 2026, instead.
