This edition will be a collaboration with Janus Tapes featuring local and interstate harsh noise acts working within a drone based medium.Where previous editions of the Norla Series have featured an eclectic span of genres or a focus on guitar based drone, this edition promises to be the harshest iteration of the Norla Series yet.
Global Genocide Division is self described as "apocalyptic power electronics" featuring members of esteemed Australian black and death metal bands. Dynamic darkened drones built towards an overwhelming wall of destruction.
Pubis Mons are the industrial noise creation of Rod Cooper and Ben Schmidt (Janus Tapes). Using DIY noise machines. Tape loops and manipulation with overtones of junk metal and field recordings.
Sulphur Garden is a Power Electronics/Death Industrial duo from Melbourne consisting of Sean Hinds (Whitehorse/Ignivomous/Voidchrist) and Jael Edwards (Ignivomous/Nothinghunger). Musically, Sulphur Garden draws from the tradition of European and U.S Heavy Electronics embodied in acts such as MZ.412, Brighter Death Now, Gruntsplatter, Steel Hook Prosthesis among others. Constructed using predominantly analog equipment, DIY percussion/noise instruments and an array of effects units, Sulphur Garden live is normally an intense and confrontational affair. For the Norla Dome show, however, the group will shift emphasis and showcase it's more drone/ambient elements.
