About this Event
We will be hosting a monthly Biophysics Colloquium centered around Melbourne’s research community in biological physics, microscopy, computational & mathematical biology, and quantitative analysis.
These colloquiums will provide an opportunity for researchers undertaking interesting field-related projects to inform the local community on the progression, challenges, and impact of their current research. These colloquium will also enable future research students to hear about the exciting work being undertaken by local leaders in our field, providing opportunities for both researchers and students to meet each other to discuss interests or future academic pursuits.
These colloquiums aim to:
• Encourage exposure of biophysics researchers and laboratories to the current, cutting- edge work being undertaken across local institutions in Melbourne, or wider.
• Promote discourse and communication between local researchers in biophysical disciplines.
• Expose future research students to this multidisciplinary discipline as well as give them a chance to meet and learn more about the local scientists pioneering the field.
We will be inviting two speakers each month to give a short 25-minute seminar on their recent research, project, or a field-related topic of their choice; allowing additional time for conversing over provided refreshments.
