Melanie Kagan is the CEO of The Center for Family Resources (The CFR) in Marietta, GA. Founded in 1960, The CFR is a Cobb County-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting local families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. The CFR also serves as the Lead Agency and Collaborative Applicant for the GA-506 Marietta/Cobb Continuum of Care, now known as the Cobb Homeless Alliance.

Melanie brings over 15 years of nonprofit leadership experience. She previously served as the Northwest Regional Director for United Way of Greater Atlanta and held leadership roles with Big Brothers Big Sisters and United Way in Central New Mexico. Prior to her transition to the nonprofit sector, Melanie spent a decade in healthcare administration.

Deeply committed to bettering communities, Melanie works to build collaborative solutions that create lasting impact for families in need. She also serves on several boards and committees supporting the greater Atlanta area.

Melanie and her husband, Maxwell, live in Cobb County with their children.
