Led by legendary Portland drummer Mel Brown, this ensemble delivers the unmistakable warmth, swing, and soul that have made their Thursday-night concerts a cornerstone of the city’s jazz scene.
This evening features a special appearance from Andy Stokes, the Northwest King of Soul, whose velvet vocals and unmistakable stage presence bring an added layer of magic to the music.
Presented by Soul’d Out Productions, this concert invites you into the rich lineage of Portland jazz history. Mel Brown’s decades-long career includes collaborations with Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross, and The Temptations, and his B3 Organ Group continues that legacy with deep groove, masterful improvisation, and an atmosphere that feels like home.
