Sunday, 16 August 2026 — 10:00am to 4:00pm

Based on the work of Sanford Meisner and further developed through the teaching lineage of William Esper, Justin Lehmann teaches the original practice and deeply respected approach to the Meisner Technique.
Rarely offered in Western Australia, this exclusive and once-only immersive two-day workshop introduces actors to the world-famous Meisner Technique, a powerful acting approach focused on learning to “live truthfully under imaginary circumstances.”
Built around repetition, instinctive responses and emotional truth, Meisner helps actors move beyond overthinking and into genuinely connected, present and truthful performance. The technique has influenced some of the world’s most respected actors, including Robert Duvall, Diane Keaton, Jeff Goldblum, Naomi Watts, Sam Rockwell and Sydney Sweeney.
Places are strictly limited to 20 actors only to ensure a focused, practical and hands-on workshop experience.
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
This is a highly practical workshop, with actors working from the very beginning. Meisner is not a technique you can master overnight, it takes time, practice and commitment but over two days, participants will gain a strong introduction to the foundations of the technique and experience the freedom, connection and authenticity that make this method one of the most respected acting approaches in the world.
Actors will be able to begin applying elements of the technique immediately to stage and screen performances, auditions and self-tapes, creating work that feels more authentic, connected and believable.
WHO IS MEISNER SUITABLE FOR?
This workshop is suitable for both beginners and experienced actors, across stage and screen.
Whether you are new to acting or refining your craft professionally, Meisner provides a practical foundation you can return to time and time again. It will challenge you to listen deeply, respond honestly and work more instinctively.
Being a practice-based technique, Meisner also offers ongoing value for actors already familiar with the work. This workshop is an opportunity to revisit the foundations, practise the technique and deepen your connection to truthful, instinctive performance.
Take your performance from performed… to real, present, connected and authentic with Justin Lehmann’s Meisner workshop.
