Mehfil ~e~ Iftar : From Jama Masjid to a Shahi Dastarkhwan

It’s the holy month of Ramzaan and Delhi’s streets leading up to Jama Masjid are a riot of lights colors festive gaiety and obviously food!! And this year as in the previous years we are ready to host you….in the brightly lit market alleys of Old Delhi and into the holy courtyard of Jama Masjid….for a cultural experience like no other!

As the evening prayers progress you are awestruck by the scenes unfolding around you and watching the transforming colours and lights of the grand mosque after which we head out to the evening’s food destination the ‘Shahi Mehfil Restaurant’ our hospitality partners at a stone’s throw away from Jama Masjid.

We settle down for the ‘Shahi Iftaari Dastarkhwaan’ feast. The menu of which has been curated from the finest kitchens and ‘khansamas'(chefs/cooks) of some of the oldest families of Old Delhi along with Iftar foods inspired from other parts of India. On offer are traditional meat & a few vegetarian delicacies special Iftaar beverages and tales from our ‘jhola’ of stories so that you learn more about the traditions associated with Ramzaan!

All of this done with the blend of DBF’s unique fun anecdotal storytelling with photography and food opportunities.

Charges: Rs 2200/person (Incl of Cultural Heritage walk and shahi dastarkhwaan of traditional Indian veg & non-veg Iftaari foods/beverages) Children of ages 9-12yrs it is 50% of charges which is to be given in cash only. These charges cover all costs for the traditional food & beverages.

Exclusions: Costs of bottled water aerated beverages entry & photography fees at the Jama Masjid for non-Indians and rickshaw commuting costs if any.

NOTE: We have capacity to host a limited guests up-to 18 participants and we will prepare food accoridngly and thus prior booking is MANDATORY.
