Mehfil-e-Ghalib: A Mehfil of Poetry & Conversation

Mehfil-e-Ghalib recreates the charm of the traditional literary mehfil, a gathering where poetry is appreciated through conversation, reflection, and shared discovery.

Over the course of the session, participants will:

- Explore the life, humour, and philosophy of Mirza Ghalib

- Decode the meanings and nuances of carefully selected ghazals and couplets

- Enjoy fascinating anecdotes from 19th-century Delhi and Ghalib's remarkable life

This is not a musical recital. Instead, it is an engaging cultural experience where poetry comes alive through stories, context, and discussion.

The session flows naturally between Urdu, Hindi and English, making it accessible even to those with no prior knowledge of Urdu or poetry.
