ABOUT SUPER PANCAKE AND THE TERRIBLE TOAST

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s a . . . pancake? Our favorite syrupy superhero returns in a new graphic novel to face Breakfast Town’s new supervillain and take down her terrible mind control machine . . . before it takes over the entire town!

When we last saw our hero, Peggy Pancake, she was learning to be more responsible by babysitting five mini muffins and rescuing Breakfast Town from a Mini Mega Laser of Doom disaster. Megan Wagner Lloyd is the Eisner-nominated writer of the bestselling and award winning kids’ graphic novels Allergic, Squished, and Winging It, co-created with illustrator Michelle Mee Nutter, and the Super Pancake kids’ graphic novel series, co-created with illustrator Abhi Alwar. Megan is also the author of the children’s novel Haven: A Small Cat’s Big Adventure, the picture book How to Catch Some Zzzs, illustrated by Jade Orlando, and several more books. She lives with her family in the Washington, DC area.

Abhi Alwar (like “a bumblebee”) is an artist based in Brooklyn, NY. She has illustrated several picture books including Fall is For Beginnings by Rajani LaRocca, and Hamsters Make Terrible Roommates, written by Cheryl B. Klein, among others. Abhi is also the illustrator of the action-packed MG graphic novel series Super Pancake, written by Megan Wagner Lloyd. She works primarily digitally, supplemented with gouache and colored pencil. Her favorite kind of stories are the outrageous ones that make her laugh out loud and fall out of her chair (ow).
